+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1164973 +++
Description of problem:
When B*MS 6.1.0 is layered into the EAP 6.3.1 distribution, the distribution directory is named:
jboss-eap-6.3
When booting EAP, the product and version shown is:
JBoss BPM Suite 6.1.0.Alpha (AS 7.4.1.Final-redhat-3)
Starting the Administration Console, the header on the console reads:
Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Server 6.1.0.Alpha
Looking back at prior releases, this is the same with the B*MS 6.0.x releases too.
However, it could lead to confusion as the EAP version is not 6.1.0.
We should revisit the exposed versions are accurate reflect the product 'layer' and the base it overlays.

Since this issue was entered in Red Hat Bugzilla, the release flag has been
set to ? to ensure that it is properly evaluated for this release.

I kindly think this more an EAP issue.
For layer product, we configurd layer product name and info in
modules/system/layers/${layername}/org/jboss/as/product/${layername}/dir/META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
EAP's versions and name are still stored in
modules/system/layers/base/org/jboss/as/product/eap/dir/META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
We actually don't have anything to fix but to point this to EAP component.

This might not be fixed for 6.1.x unless BZ1176249 get fixed for 6.4.
