      Motivation

Many planning applications are based on common planning problems that are expanded to real customer use cases. OptaPlanner quickstarts give a headstart in developing planning applications.

      Goal

Showcase how to develop common planning applications

      Scenarios

As a developer, I want to learn from code.

As a developer, I want to create a planning application based on a common planning problem

      Expected outcomes

OptaPlanner quickstarts documentation in getting started guide

      List of quickstarts:

      • school timetable on Quarkus
      • school timetable on Spring Boot
      • school timetable on Java
      • employee scheduling
      • vaccination appointment scheduler
      • (Do we plan to have a simpler VRP quickstart instead of the VRP application starter like we are replacing employee scheduling one?)

Do we require productized quickstarts for testing? Could we rather deliver quickstarts via a Red Hat owned github repo with productized branches?
