      Motivation

OptaPlanner is for optimizing application goals with limited resources under constraints. It's runtime planning capabilities are embedded in planning applications based on Java, Spring Boot or Quarkus. This is the main delivery set which customers will be able to use in their planning applications.

      Goal

Productize OptaPlanner artifacts including its dependencies such as Drools 8

      Scenarios

As a developer, I need to use and run on the Red Hat supported version of OptaPlanner in my Java/Spring Boot/Quarkus planning applications.

      Expected outcomes

Drools 8 will be productized and included in OptaPlanner product

Drools 8 can only be used as a score engine in OptaPlanner and it won’t be supported/documented as a standalone rule engine

OptaPlanner artifacts for Java projects in Red Hat JBoss Maven repository

OptaPlanner starters for Spring Boot projects in Red Hat JBoss Maven repository

OptaPlanner Quarkus extensions for Java projects in Red Hat JBoss Maven repository

OptaPlanner Quarkus extensions do not have to be part of productized Quarkus platform (yet, in this first release)
