Hi Team,
While working with the repository view, I noticed a functional difference between the Old UI and the New UI regarding tag and manifest visibility.
In the Old UI, it is possible to clearly visualize which tags correspond to the same manifest digest. The UI groups or visually connects related tags, making it very easy to identify when multiple tags reference the same image manifest. This is particularly helpful when validating image promotion flows, versioning strategies, or confirming that multiple version tags point to the same digest.
In the New UI, although the manifest digest is displayed per tag, there is currently no visual grouping or indication that multiple tags share the same manifest. This makes it harder to quickly understand tag relationships, especially in repositories with many versioned tags.
Expected Improvement:
It would be extremely valuable to introduce a visual indicator, grouping mechanism, or similar enhancement in the New UI that clearly shows when multiple tags reference the same manifest digest, similar to the behavior available in the Old UI.
This improvement would:
- Simplify validation of image promotion workflows
- Improve visibility into tag to digest relationships
- Reduce manual comparison effort
- Enhance overall usability for users managing large repositories
I have attached screenshots of both the Old UI and the New UI for reference.
