2. What is the nature and description of the request? * corends gets multiple queries from downstream systems like service mesh. Same hostnames may have different ports. For eg: [abc.foo.com:80] [abc.foo.com:443] [abc.foo.com:1334]

• For each different port for the same hostname coredns forwards/queries duplicates the queries. So same hostname has 100 ports, coredns will have 100 queries it forwards to upstream.

3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here) * because of the flood of queries, this floods the upstream customer DNS. Upstream DNS misbehaves which is a problem for the entire company.
