Verizon Far Edge are using Red Hats solution for RAN site deployments using Image based install (operator) via gitops.  Verizons flow is as follows:

      Flow:

      • Pre install at factory
      • ISO is generated
      • Server is pre-installed using the ISO
      • Server shuts down on successful pre-install
      • Server is either:
      • Shipped to site
      • Placed on a shelf until needed in the field
      • Production site:
      • IBI of the CaaS
      • Prior to installation:
      • Validations run by Verizon’s automation system using a “skinny OS”
      • Check for BIOS settings, network reachability
      • Check for successful IBI factory pre-install
                  • OCP Version
                  • ISO pre-install was “successful”
      • Complete installation

Given the servers are pre-installed and shelved, it is pertinent to validate that prior to IBI at the production site that the server has the correct OCP version being pre-installed and that the factory pre-install had been successful.
