The Gateway API currently has only one pod during the configuration process, and it should be able to autoscale via HPA or be manually scaled by setting the number of replicas. For example https://istio.io/latest/docs/tasks/traffic-management/ingress/gateway-api/#automated-deployment

The document should also be updated and mention supportability.
