1. Proposed title of this feature request
2. What is the nature and description of the request?
See slack thread here for more context.
In certain restricted environments (for example Windows) the file paths generate by must gather for log files is too long and causes the must-gather operations to fail.
The request is to have a flag or other input parameter that tells the operator to create shorter filepaths. There was concern that this could potentially impact triage operations, so this should not be done by default.
One area was to not include the container and container image as part of the filepath as it can add almost 120 characters to the path length.
3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
This is impacting the customer's ability to gather must-gather logs in their environment and could potentially prohibit them from receiving adequate assistance from Red Hat support teams who require must-gather logs for triage.
4. List any affected packages or components.
