1. Proposed title of this feature request
Support OVN primary layer2 UDN observability with VMs
2. What is the nature and description of the request?
Due to the way VMs are connected to the outside network, the observability operator may not be able to monitor their traffic the same way it monitors Pod traffic. Because of that, VM traffic may not be visible at all, or the information may be limited.
In order for us to claim that the operator works for both Pods and VMs, we must test its features with VMs.
This RFE is to include VMs in observability operator end-to-end tests, extend the docs, and fix any bugs that may be discovered. This RFE is specifically focused at VMs using primary UDNs with the layer2 topology and l2bridge binding (or the passt binding in case it is released by the time this RFE is picked up).
3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
Several customers raised an interest in the Observability Operator features. Those who tried it also raised that it does not work as good with VMs as it does with Pods. They want a single view to understand all the traffic, east west and north south.
4. List any affected packages or components.
