1. make the reference file, metadata.yaml modular, like blocks that you can add for example a reference that has templates without NFD and the only add the reference of NFD to it? like concatenation ?
   2. example: some "base" reference, and then a NFD reference that says "Include the base reference and add NFD to it"?
   3. in order to expand the tool ability to work for other teams , like us EDGE AI 

Notes:

• This would likely be in the form of some kind of "include" or "Inherit" directive in metadata.yaml
• We would also want an additional directive to remove and/or override specific parts of an inherited or included metadata.yaml
