1. Proposed title of this feature request
Updated boot images for Azure / ARO
2. What is the nature and description of the request?
Clusters born very early on, at least 4.4 and 4.5 can be unable to deploy new worker nodes due to a problem with network interface naming during the CoreOS 8 to 9 upgrade. This is discussed in https://issues.redhat.com/browse/OCPBUGS-34558. The outcome of that bug was that we need to support upgrading firstboot images on Azure / ARO.
At this time we only have an SRE manual workaround requiring break-glass and manual editing of kernel command-line arguments.
3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
Clusters born on very old versions are unable to provision new worker nodes without SRE break-glass intervention.
4. List any affected packages or components.
