Our partner raised the following request on the RHOL Vector parameter.
1. Proposed title of this feature request
Enhance tuning parameters for Vector performance
2. What is the nature and description of the request?
Red Hat provides the KCS[1] for tuning log payloads and delivery in RHOCP4.
Several parameters are explained in it as vector tuning, but some parameters are not documented or are hard coded.
Therefore, the number of parameters that can be tuned is limited in case of trouble with Vector performance.
We want to consider adding a tuning parameter to adjust when we have trouble with Vector performance.
3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
We understand that RHOL follows the philosophy of providing an out-of-the-box solution that works without requiring deep knowledge of the underlying components, such as Vector/Loki.
So, at this time, RHOL is limiting rather than disclosing all adjustable values.
However, the current tuning parameters limit the range of tuning RHOL that can be made in response to missing logs and other problems.
Therefore, the partners would like to increase the number of tuning parameters when they have trouble with Vector performance.
4. List any affected packages or components.
