1. Proposed title of this feature request
Network Policy Admin GUI
2. What is the nature and description of the request?
Provide a Graphical Interface through which OpenShift administrators can:
- Visualise existing Network Policies and how they map to the pods (VMs and containers) within a project
- Edit and save changes to Network Policies.
- Create new Network Policies and apply them to the project
The interface should be easy to understand the flows that are allowed both within and in/out of the project.
Network policies should work with the normal pod network, as well as User Defined Networks.
3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
As a customer coming from VMware and its NSX-T offering, utilising YAML files for creation and review of Network Policy is not easy to consume.
With the advent of User Defined Networks, network policies are likely to be used for more use cases including Virtualisation workloads with multiple interfaces. Plus Network Policies within projects are likely to be more complex, as VMs may have more required flows that their container equivalents (as they run agents, more services etc)
Virtualization Administrators want to be able to understand the workflows between VMs. Security Admins want to easily be able to view the allowed flows within a project.
4. List any affected packages or components.
