Not all workloads will need to use the same size of VM for running workloads. Peer pods should enable the customization of the VMs with variants. This should be done in a way that is consistent with use of PLATFORM standards (i.e. by specifying a os/arch/variant). Some standards are present in
- image-spec: https://github.com/opencontainers/image-spec/blob/main/image-index.md
- go environment variables: https://go.dev/doc/install/source#environment
Note: None of these specifications suggest a way to customize a VM size as they are not technically variants.
