OTA-791 adds support for upgrade channel and available updates on Hosted Control Plane. But currently default channel is unset on the HyperShift hosted cluster. In this case, users will not get updates recommendation by default unless they set channel explicitly.

trking  proposed to let HostedCluster-creating tooling (OCM/hypershift cli) do the defaulting (like the ClusterVersion-creating installer is doing the defaulting for stand-alone OCP)
