      1. Proposed title of this feature request

      IPI provider for OpenShift Virt

      2. What is the nature and description of the request?

Customers coming from VMware world may want to keep the modus operandi and have as few changes as possible with the way they manage their environments. Feedback got from a real customer "I want to keep it as s*imple and{} close to how we deploy in the VMware infrastructure*. I know we are deploying ACM and I definitely prefer to utilizing it to deploy new clusters. But I'm not too sure of using "Hosted Control Planes" as I mention, I want to be as close as we can on how we currently deploy in the VMware infrastructure."

Although Red Hat's strategic direction for OCP on OCP is on HCP, there will be scenarios for customers that it is just more convenient if there is an IPI provider for OCP Virt, in which they could deploy an OpenShift cluster on OpenShift Virtualization in a very similar way they can do today with VMware, AWS, etc.

      3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)

      Minimal disruption to customer's operation.

      4. List any affected packages or components.

      • OpenShift Installer
      • OpenShift Virtualization
