- Proposed title of this feature request ---> Enable Visibility of VM metrics in the Administrator Portal for all the users with Admin Rights.
- What is the nature and description of the request? ---> This feature request proposes the enhancement of the OpenShift console to allow visibility of Virtual Machine (VM) metrics (such as CPU usage, memory usage, etc.) in the admin portal for all users with admin rights, similar to how it is currently visible in the developer’s portal. Currently the metrics are getting redirected to /monitoring endpoint however it must be redirected to /dev-monitoring or even /monitoring should display the metrics.
- Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here) ---> The current functionality limits users with admin rights from accessing VM metrics in the admin portal, which is inconsistent with the access provided in the developer’s portal. This limitation creates a gap in monitoring and managing resources effectively, especially in environments where users with admin privileges need to perform oversight and troubleshooting tasks. Enabling this feature will ensure that all users with admin rights can access VM metrics across both portals, enhancing operational efficiency and resource management.
- List any affected packages or components ---> Monitoring endpoint
- Steps to reproduce the issue: --> 1. Set up a new user in OpenShift and assign admin rights similar to the customer’s environment. 2. Verify Metrics Visibility in Developer’s Portal 3. Verify Metrics Visibility in Admin Portal 4. Compare Results: Observe that VM metrics are visible in the developer’s portal but not in the adminstrator portal for users with admin rights [Verified in version 4.14]
