      1. Proposed title of this feature request

NavIC support for PTP grandmaster clock

      2. What is the nature and description of the request?

The NavIC [1] satellite constellation is used in India to provide positioning information, similar to other constellations like GPS or Glonass. Support for this constellation has been requested in the Intel Westport Channel line of cards, we need to make sure the appropriate support is also present on the PTP software side as well, so it is available when the hardware is ready.

      3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)

The Indian government is requiring its telco operators to use NavIC for GNSS instead of other constellations like GPS. We can expect this request to be passed on to Red Hat for linuxptp support in the PTP grandmaster clock as soon as the hardware support is available.

      4. List any affected packages or components.

      linuxptp / PTP operator
