1. Proposed title of this feature request
Update infrastructureTopology for infrastructure/cluster object after cluster installation
2. What is the nature and description of the request?
Cluster was installed with only 1 worker node and infrastructureTopology is set to SingleReplica and only one Prometheus pod is deployed.
Have deployed more worker nodes and want to increase Prometheus pods, but changes are overwritten due to SingleReplica setting,
Want to be able to change the value of infrastructureTopology to HighlyAvailable to allow deployment of more than one Prometheus pod.
3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
Avoiding reinstall cluster due high impact for customer’s environments and time consuming. They are hitting issue that is described here:
https://access.redhat.com/solutions/6484531
Based on the private comment from one of our engineers there is no supported way of changing the infrastructureTopology after cluster installation and the referred knowledge base is not supported, and based on the public statement from another engineer reinstall and set some fields is the only option.
There is an existing bug about it
4. List any affected packages or components.
