AWS S3 as source for ArgoCD

2. What is the nature and description of the request?

AWS S3 as source for ArgoCD. Major FSI customer requires this feature. This does not seem to be supported in the upstream https://github.com/argoproj/argo-cd/discussions/8091

3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)

Customer is migrating from Flux, which has this feature. The customer has made migration efforts over the past year with Flux to use S3 buckets as a HA/DR strategy since they can’t currently have dependencies on their git instances. This also applies for the firms public cloud offerings which would also require this feature.
