We recently made a decision to no longer mark NFS as supported, in fact, in has been marked as unsupported in the UI and codebase since 3.0 already. Given the amount of customers who are using reliable and expensive NFS storage backends and don't want to invest into additional, object based storage solutions we might want to add a more sustainable and reliable support for NFS storage backends used for Quay.

As suggested by Kyle this might mean "an NFS specific storage engine with code to validate that the network connection to NFS daemon processes is sufficient and handle errors specific to NFS during operation. An extension of the existing LocalStorage storage engine code to have some NFS validation features and error handling would be sufficient to allow production support for NFS".

Once the RFE has been accepted and implemented we can revert changes we made in the UI, docs and the tested configurations matrix.
