Red Hat OpenShift Service on Amazon
- Proposed title of this feature request
- Automatically configure Persistent Storage when user selects "Enable User Workload Monitoring"
- What is the nature and description of the request?
- UWM was enabled by the customer and was automatically created without persistent storage. After upgrades on 4 of their clusters, they discovered that all of the clusters were running with more nodes than necessary and they were unable to scale down.
- The logs showed that UWM was using local storage and this was blocking the nodes from being removed by the autoscaler.
- Setting UWM to use persistent storage [1] would resolve this issue.
- Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
- UWM was configured automatically when selecting to enable it. This configuration does not provide an option to set up storage, and if it did, the reported issue would not have occurred.
- List any affected packages or components.
