Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) is an essential feature for network synchronization, providing a method for distributing a PPS signal (taken in via the GNSS module) across an Ethernet network.
This addition would enable the PTP operator to cater to the needs of enterprise and carrier-grade networks, where the use of Westport Channel and Logan Beach NICs is widespread.

By supporting SyncE in the PTP operator, users can achieve highly accurate and reliable synchronization in their networks.
As SyncE is critical for precise network synchronization, the inclusion of SyncE support in the PTP operator would enable Red Hat to provide an industry-leading solution for network synchronization.
Consequently, this feature enhancement would be beneficial to many users and would contribute to positioning the PTP operator as a go-to solution for network synchronization.
