2. What is the nature and description of the request?

For an system operator with limited knowledge of PTP it is a little hard to understand if the applied PTP configuration is working and the system clock is being syncronized with PTP.

The idea is to have a status field in one of the PTP Custom Resources where the operator reports the current status regarding PTP (i.e. clock is syncing)

(Compare with oc get network cluster -o yaml reporting current status)

Yes there is the fast event framework that can also be used, but it requires additional integration.

I have no customer asking for this, it is in the category of nice-to-have's
