1. Proposed title of this feature request
Feature Name: Submariner support for SRIOV Pods
2. What is the nature and description of the request?
- Telco workloads are typically latency sensitive, hence utilize acceleration technologies such as SRIOV for network packet processing. While it would be possible to connect the two environments via L3 networking constructs, a ready, recommended solution such as Submariner to bridge the data networks between clusters would be useful to have.
As of now, it is not possible to use submariner for SRIOV pods. So as per the request from customer, this feature should be implemented in OCP as well.
3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
- Customer wants a secure communication between the SRIOV pods located in hybrid cloud clusters. So looking for the submariner feature in OCP.
