      1. Proposed title of this feature request

      • ICE driver upgrade
        2. What is the nature and description of the request?
      • Driver upgrade for Columbiaville NICs
        3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
      • The ICE driver is required in order to use Columbiaville NICs (E810) on the hardware. The RHCOS package is bundled with a lower version ICE driver that does not support assigning same MAC address to multiple VFs with different VLANs.
This is a requirement that comes from RAN fronthaul perspective especially when we inter-work with some of the Radio Units. There are certain issues with ICE driver versions less than 1.4.11 to satisfy the above requirement. The latest ice driver version is 1.9.11 that has the required fixes and it is very important that the OS package is bundled with latest driver. More information about this driver can be found in the below link.

Business Impact: Without this we will not be able to use Columbiaville NICs along with RHCOS OS supplied as part of Redhat Openshift when inter-working with some Radio Unit vendors in the 5G vRAN domain.

      4. List any affected packages or components.
      ICE driver package.
