Full product support of the currently Red Hat community supported patch operator

3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)

The existing pattern of using kubernetes jobs, which then launches a container which applies a patch using oc, fails because it lacks auto reconciliation. This means that argocd syncs must be manually executed on every single argocd application which contains jobs which implement patching commands to ensure that existing cluster state does not drift from the desired patched state.

This operator, created by The Red Hat Community of Practice, https://github.com/redhat-cop/patch-operator solves this issue, but the customer needs production support to use it per internal policy.
