Hello Team,
A Customer of ours are running Openshift on AWS and needs to consolidate their cluster master nodes into a single AZ.
But want to keep the master nodes in a placement group, which places each EC2 instance in a different physical host, which helps them if a hardware box goes down in the EC2 infra.
However, I could not find this feature documented and see no other issues/requests for the same.
Can this be implemented?
- Proposed title of this feature request
AWS Placement group support for Openshift
2. What is the nature and description of the request?
To avoid the placement of all master nodes on a single hardware stack in a single AZ, the AWS feature of the placement group can be used, which ensures all masters do not go down in case of a hardware failure.
3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
CU is moving to single AZ from multiple AZs in AWS.
4. List any affected packages or components.
N/A.
