RHCOS Metrics Exposed for OCP Cluster Monitoring - What is the nature and description of the request?
Customer requires the following RHCOS metrics to be exposed for OCP cluster monitoring:
- Systemd status (systemctl is-system-running)
- Systemd services status (systemctl is-active <service>)
- MPIO multipathing status
- NIC speed and duplex status
- Bonded NIC status
- Standby NIC interface status
- NTP status - Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
Major FSI customer with large OCP estate requires these metrics for SRE operations and advanced cluster monitoring. They have developed a custom temporary solution with a privileged container for this metrics collection but they need a more mature production hardened solution. This was discussed during a customer interaction with RHCOS and OCP - List any affected packages or components.
See Item 2 for RHCOS metrics required.
