    Description

      1. Proposed title of this feature request
        • Improved management of operator versions and upgrade availability in locally managed registries
      2. What is the nature and description of the request?
        • The current way operators are distributed as a bundled image of the registry makes it difficult for end users to control the availability of specific versions of operators in their network restricted clusters.
The desired workflow would be to:
          • identify all installed operators and their current versions in a disconnected
          • compare the above information against all available versions in the upstream Red Hat repository
          • select a specific version of the operator to be pulled to the disconnected mirror to be submitted to internal approval processes
          • approve or reject the availability of the specific operator version to the disconnected cluster
      3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
        • The customer wishes to be able to maintain tighter control over what versions of operators are available in their disconnected cluster and to vett them against their own specific requirements.
      4. List any affected packages or components.
        • Red Hat Operator Registry image
        • Red Hat Operator Hub
        • OLM
