Running the testsuite with -Dserver.version=12.0.0.Final shows few failures, which are most likely related to the mismatch between our module.xml files for jsonp/b impls and what the server is supposed to have.
ee8.preview.mode is also to be considered (or at least we should make the build work by default with it set to true).
