Backport changes from 3.1.0.Final to 3.0.20.SPx

A few changes got lost in the creation of branch 3.0.20.SPx. For example,

1. Some log messages need to be internationalized.
2. Some classes need to be deprecated.
3. Tests directed to Resteasy 2 ad hoc frameworks like the client and interceptor frameworks need to be sorted out.
