Kafka streams is currently Technology Preview in RHBQ 1.7.x. As such we are using the productized AMQ Strems client. However, the productized AMQ Streams client depends on native libraries for RocksDB. This does cause issues when a developer is using Windows or Mac, since they cannot run RHBQ applications that depends on Kafka streams.

We need to investigate what is the best way to solve this. The alternatives are:

      1. Ship community version of the native libraries (would violate our productization gate checks).
      2. Ship productized versions of these libraries (Need to be discussed with the AMQ Streams team)
      3. Investigate if it's possible in development mode on Windows and Mac use something else than RocksDB. See https://stackoverflow.com/questions/40110511/why-apache-kafka-streams-uses-rocksdb-and-if-how-is-it-possible-to-change-it
