Allow listing Quarkus application through the Admin Console

XMLWordPrintable

As a Platform Engineer, I would like to be able to see an inventory of all Quarkus Applications deployed on the cluster.

      Tasks:

      • We must investigate how to write an operator that integrates with the Admin console. Reach out to the developer BU to find out more.
        • There should be a menu item under the Workloads group for this. Initially, we will call it Quarkus, but in the future we can consider adding other runtimes.
      • To create the inventory data, we will initially use the label (app.openshift.io/runtime: quarkus). In the future, we should consider using the runtime insight operator (talk to Jeff Mesnil). Sub-tasks
        • Listing the instances is a P1 requirement.
        • It would help to have some graphical indications of health and perhaps memory usage, but exactly what these are is still under consideration. We should, as part of this, come up with some recommendations of what to put in the graphs. P2.
        • Investigate if we can calculate environmental or cost savings based on nominal assumed values for legacy (EAP/Spring Boot/WAS) applications. P3
      •
