During[ itn-2025-00264|https://web-rca.devshift.net/incident/ITN-2025-00264] we observed intermittent 500 errors from quay.io while serving pulls from our backup us-east-2 region. It was noted that a likely culprit of this behavior was insufficient kinesis shards provisioned in our backup region. This is one example of a discrepancy of resources between us-east-2 and us-east-1. We should prioritize investigating our backup region and scale up resources appropriately so we are better prepared to serve traffic from us-east-2.
