The location list takes up too much space. I'd rather have it removed and replaced with a small toolbar with various actions and an area to display information like route length, number of locations, solver status, edit mode on/off. The location list should be a side panel that is hidden and can be expanded if needed.

Actions (toolbar buttons)

• Show location list
• Load example(s)
• Clear (remove all locations)
• Add location by address (geocoding feature)
• Toggle manual input mode
• Zoom in/out

More actions may be added in the future (e.g. switching distance calculation type – air distance vs. road distance).

Status information

• Route length
• Number of locations
• Solver info:
  • Activity (solving vs. terminated, can be indicated by an icon).
  • Remaining time before termination or time since last improvement (can be a progress bar on the edge of the screen without any text value).
