Description: As part of the PLG (Product-Led Growth) strategy, we aim to enhance the user experience and trial process of our ROSA product. Currently, the "product start" page gives users a different impression than what they expect or desire. This leads to a lack of preview and a risk-free way to evaluate ROSA, discouraging potential users from committing with their credit card details. Our goal is to bridge the gap between the "learn" and "evaluate" stages in the user journey. By providing a positive trial experience, we increase the likelihood of users continuing to use ROSA beyond the trial period. This can be achieved through three options: 1) direct sign-up, 2) contacting sales for further assistance and inquiries, or 3) proactive outreach from sales teams/CSAs to users who have completed the trial.

Proposed Solution: We propose implementing the following solution to address the issues mentioned above:

      1. Offer potential ROSA users a self-service free trial to experience the product hands-on before making a purchase.
      2. Initially provide ROSA for free during the trial period, with the long-term objective of converting these users into paying customers or engaging them with sales representatives for the next steps.
      3. Develop guided training materials that effectively demonstrate the value of ROSA within a short period, facilitating users' first steps upon signing up.

Strategy: To execute the proposed solution, we will leverage the demo.redhat.com system open environment. This platform will allow us to modify the existing MOBB ROSA workshop and ROSA with HCP workshops, incorporating specific requirements and registration parameters to make them accessible to current and potential customers. We will curate the most relevant content and modules from both workshops to showcase ROSA's capabilities. Additionally, the MOBB team will enhance the existing workshop content and intro videos to ensure they are easily consumable outside of a workshop setting.

Offering Details: To streamline the trial process and ensure its effectiveness, we will implement the following offering details:

      • Only valid company email addresses will be eligible for the trial.
      • Each person or organization will be limited to one trial per month.
      • The trial period will last for X hours before the system automatically deletes the trial instance.
      • Trial/demo system terms and conditions will be provided to users.
      • The demo.redhat.com platform will incorporate a malicious workload detection system to ensure the trial environment's security.
      • A sandbox malicious workload detection system will also be implemented for additional security measures.

Timeline: We have divided the implementation into three phases with the following timelines:

      • Phase 1 (early Q3): Launch the trial to users with valid company email addresses, specifically targeting existing Red Hat customers listed in Salesforce. Non-existing customers will be prompted to contact sales to initiate the trial. The trial will feature the existing ROSA with HCP workshop content.
      • Phase 2 (late Q3): Expand the trial access to users with valid company email addresses who are not existing Red Hat customers. Manual approval will be required for this category. The trial will incorporate a combination of the existing HCP workshop content and the MOBB workshop content.
      • Phase 3 (Q4): Launch the trial with ARO (Assisted ROSE OpenShift) platform, extending the trial offering to a broader audience.

Please note that the proposed timeline is subject to change based on internal resources and prioritization.
