“In order to manage alerts in ACM, we as the Observability UI Team need to be able to re-use the monitoring plugin views without the cluster monitoring operator”

Goals & Outcomes

Product Requirements:

• Allow ACM to use the alert manager and metrics from the monitoring plugin

Engineering/Data Analytics Requirements:

• Adjust the monitoring plugin so the backend services can be configured
• Adjust the monitoring plugin so views (dashboards, metrics, targets, alerting) can be toggled via feature toggles
• Adjust the monitoring plugin alerts to include a cluster column in ACM contexts, so customers know which alert comes from which spoke cluster
• Adjust the observability UI operator to be able to deploy the monitoring plugin
