      Background

Perses uses plugins in the frontend to be able to connect with datasources and load data into charts. These plugins can be reused in the console plugins to connect to in-cluster services and display dashboards or explorer views.

      Overall Outcomes

      • The distributed tracing plugin can use Perses UI plugins
      • The distributed tracing plugin loads by default the dashboard plugin that allows to connect to tempoAPI

Part 1. sym-link Perses into distributed tracing plugin

      Outcomes

      • The current release of Perses does not include the scatter charts. To be able to link the unreleased version of Perses that contains the scatter chart panel we need to create a symbolic-link (sym-link). The outcome of this issue is to be able to import the Perses scatter chart panel via the sym-link.
      • The sym-link is a temporary and will be used for development purposes until a new release is cut containing the scatter chart panel.
