OTA-1338 has discovered that the cargo-test and customrust-cargo-test CI tests were passing even though they were under the hood failing due to compilation errors. The compilation errors were fixed, and JUnit reporting was introduced. As the CI tests were "passing" for a while, regressions and bugs have gotten to the codebase.

As of the moment, ~11 unit tests are failing.

• Fix the failing unit tests.
• cargo-test and customrust-cargo-test CI tests are passing.
