      The federation feature introduced in Red Hat OpenShift Service Mesh 2.1 is no longer available in Red Hat OpenShift Service Mesh 3.0. A new implementation of service mesh federation for Red Hat OpenShift Service Mesh 3.0 is under development and available for developer preview.

      To consider federation as a developer preview feature, it requires project documentation describing how to use it with the Sail operator (and/or OpenShift Service Mesh 3 product operator). This can live in the federation Github repository.

      Optionally, it could include a blog post to draw attention to the feature, though if we have the project doc in time (by end of Jan), we can also reference it in the OSSM 3 blog post.
