To be sure both ossm 3 and ossm2 are working when having both in one cluster we should run MTT and Istio integration tests.

We need to find out if it's possible or if it's better to create some new test suite.

There are problems like:

• hardcoded namespaces
• removing SMCP for each test case (any pre configured SMCP will be removed)
• conflicts in used namespaces for test applications
• created resource (SMCP, Istio) by the test suites are not scoped so they will watch each others workload namespaces

We need to cover both scenarios:

• Independent meshes in different namespaces
• Shared namespace for both ossm2 and ossm3 and mixed workloads (some still managed by ossm 2 and some managed by ossm3)
