The values types google.protobuf.Struct and google.protobuf.Value are not correctly typed in the Istio's CRD which causes we can not use some values properly.

For example, meshConfig's type could be formatted:

values:
  properties:
    meshConfig:
      type: object
      x-kubernetes-preserve-unknown-fields: true
