OpenShift Distributed Tracing 3.0 (based on Tempo) is currently technology preview and is set to GA in the coming months (well before OSSM 3.0). We will need to have integration tests and potentially documentation updates (to our installation guides) to cover OSSM with Tracing 3.0. Long term, this will be the only supported tracing offering with both OSSM 2 and OSSM 3, though the EOL date for Jaeger is TBD.

There is a regular sync meeting with the Tracing team on Fridays at 9am EST time to discuss OSSM - OSDT interactions such as this.

Open Questions:

• What work needs to be done to make the latest OSSM work with Distributed Tracing 3?
• What testing needs to be added/updated?
• What documentation needs to be updated?
