In our developer docs, we have a light procedure for co-existence between ambient mode and sidecar mode.]

As we have many users of Istio sidecar mode, we should have a supported procedure for this in our product documentation. This is to incorporate this setup into our testing and to incorporate guidance on this into our product documentation for ambient mode.

This could be a new topic in our "Installation" section, and should have two paths with different perquisites:

      • Perquisite: An existing Istio mesh in sidecar mode
        • Outcome: A mesh with sidecar and ambient workloads in different namespaces
      • Perquisite: An existing Istio mesh in ambient mode
        • Outcome: A mesh with sidecar and ambient workloads in different namespaces
