We need to redesign our test scopes to significantly speed up our testing process.

Current State & Future Goal:

• Current: We are dealing with 3 patch versions in our current release.
• Future: We anticipate this growing to up to 5 patch versions.
• 3 versions should fall under the basic test scope.
• 2 versions should fall under the core test scope.

• Goal: Despite the increased number of versions, we must maintain a 4-day testing cycle.

Required Changes to Achieve Goal:

To meet the 4-day target, we must reduce the requirements for the basic test scope, focusing primarily on essential smoke tests.

External Constraints:

We also need to consider that the IBM testing team has limited resources during the testing phase.

Action:

We need to investigate and identify possibilities to streamline and accelerate the overall testing cycle.

Create a document with all findings and ideas on how to achieve this.
