We need to upgrade the Kiali UI framework from PatternFly 5 to PatternFly 6 to ensure long-term support, compatibility, and alignment with upstream design and React component updates. This migration will allow us to take advantage of new UI components, accessibility improvements, performance enhancements, and updated design guidelines provided in PatternFly 6.

      Scope

      • Update all dependencies referencing PatternFly 5 to PatternFly 6.
      • Refactor components that use deprecated PF5 APIs.
      • Update layouts, styling, and patterns where PF6 introduces breaking changes.
      • Validate that navigation, tables, forms, modals, and charts behave correctly under PF6.
      • Fix any styling regressions caused by PF6 changes.
      • Update storybooks, documentation, and internal UI guidelines as needed.
      • Perform cross-browser and responsive UI testing.

      Acceptance Criteria

      • Kiali builds successfully with PatternFly 6.
      • All UI components render and function correctly (no visual or behavioral regressions).
      • No console errors related to deprecated PF5 components or missing PF6 props.
      • UI matches PF6 design patterns and guidelines.
      • Tests pass or are updated accordingly.
      • Documentation and dependencies reflect the migration.
