      The ring rebalance uses the hostname/IP of the device to distribute replicas across nodes. However, since there is one unique hostname per pod and pods might be run on the same hardware node, this does not guarantee replica assignment to different nodes.

      This is the especially the case where multiple PVCs are used per node.

      It is therefore required to refactor the rebalance script to use the nodenames during the rebalance process.
