      Epic Overview

Autoscaling in OSP consisted of 4 components up to OSP 17.1

      • ceilometer for data gathering
      • gnocchi to store and provide metrics
      • aodh as alarming component that would
        • store alarming rules
        • iterate over the rules
        • evaluate the rules, fetch the metrics from the data store
        • compare and if necessary: fire up an action
      • heat to orchestrate the changes triggered by the alarm action

      Goals

This is a dependency for OSP-23207; either we can deploy gnocchi, or change aodh so that e.g prometheus can satisfy this dependency.
