2023Q3
Epic to track the work need to create our first OSP 18 Dev Preview.
The Dev Preview will be based on our last quarterly demo.
- Target date is around the end of July (lower priority than 17.1 release, though the dependency on having 17.1 released has been removed, probably, TBC).
- Some compose limitations due to the Brew outage.
- Goal is for a happy-path very-simple install on virtual hardware, not designed for customer install or real hardware.
- We want to use the Dev Preview to find the break points when used by customers.
- No downstream testing done yet, nor is it expected for Dev Preview.
- NFV and ShiftonStack testing is being done on a hybrid of virtual and bare metal.
- Some validation is missing, so manual testing will be needed.
- Eng teams to do a basic validation that the selected content works
- Next steps:
- Teams need to tag the repositories in a certain order.
- Jon needs to produce the bundles.
- rlandy@redhat.com's team needs the magic from the DirectorOperator team to use those builds in the downstream pipeline to do basic validation.
- Hand over docs & bundles for manual validations of the docs and content by the DFGs.
- Rebuild any bundles that require rebuild to fix something.
- Release when we have the ‘go’ based on their manual validations.
